You will need to make a family tree for that book! ;D The characters are based on real people in Como which made our book discussion a hoot. :)

You did good in class today, Beth, and I'm a very proud teacher. Now, be sure to checkback with the host blog all summer so you don't miss out on the memes and pizes.

PS Here's an assignment. Try to place the Southen Reading Challenge button in your sidebar.

Thanks for the input, Maggie. Girl, I need to talk to you about this book...I did not know that you had a book discussion on this work. Thanks for all of your help.

I reread my comment and notice my laptop is dropping r's. Hum?

It was a weekend of Stark Young, Beth! The book discussion was on Friday night. I gave a walking tour of Como that morning, and that night we had two locals read from his letters. They alternated reading with one focused on his family and the other his career. Afterwards, the audience spoke of him. We showed the movie (reel2reel) Sunday at 2:00 and the place was packed. I was real happy with the turnout during the separate programs. Oh, we did grave rubbings, too.

I had no idea anyone else was considering Stark Young. What made you choose "So Red the Rose"?
